The last day of Durga Puja

The last day of Durga Puja holds a special significance for all the married women of the Bengali community. Before bidding adieu to the Goddess, the ladies assemble near the Idol, apply vermilion on the Goddess’s feet or forehead and then smear vermilion on each other. This is a part of the last celebration before the Goddess is taken for immersion. The married Bengali women pray for the long life of their husbands as they participate in the ‘Sindoor Khela’. The sight is just spectacular with the colour red all over the place.

‘Sindoor Khela’ will show you the true essence of the festival.

a cute girl: looking something interesting with her father…

I was on the street and looking something interesting to catch with my cam… I saw a girl child with her father looking at a mask man. Curiosity in her eyes and she definitely found this is very interesting. I love her expression towards the subject and her face…I try to catch the moment on my cam and she move away with her father in a busy street but before she left saw me taking her photographs, she gave me a sweet smile… I tried to follow her to say thank you and would love to know her name too but couldn’t find her…
